Crystal Bowl Regatta
May 26th, 2007

Laser, Laser Radial and International Canoe
Rules:
These regattas are governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) for 2005-2008, the prescriptions of
the US Sailing Association, and the WRSC General Sailing Instructions and any applicable class rules.
Any change to this NOR or General Sailing Instructions will be posted prior to 9:30 am the day of the
race.
Entry Fee:
$25 Regatta Fee. A $5 discount will be applied for US Sailing Members. Food available for purchase.
Schedule:
Registration will begin at 0800 on Saturday. A skippers meeting will be held at 0930. The scheduled time
of the warning signal for the first race is 1100. Subsequent races will be held after the end of the previous
race. The total number of races is subject to the discretion of the race committee. A single completed
race shall constitute a regatta. No warning signal will be made after 3 pm.
Start:
Starts will be conducted using Rule 26 (5 minute system). Boats will not start later than four (4) minutes
after their starting signal. A minimum of three boats from the same class are required for a start. If three
or more Laser Radials are competing, they will be given a separate start.
Course:
Courses will be posted on the Starboard side of the committee boat in accordance with the Sailing
instructions. Racing area is anticipated to be on the WRSC inside course, between Rhode River and the
Chesapeake Bay.
Scoring:
The Low-Point Scoring System, RRS A2 will apply, modified so that each boat's series score will be the
total of her race scores with her worst score discarded if 6 or more races have been completed. Results
will be posted on the Club bulletin board and the Club web page www.westriversc.org.
Safety:
All boats shall carry equipment in compliance with Coast Guard safety regulations. All boats should have
a tow line available.
Awards:
Awards shall be distributed in ceremony following end of racing. Trophies will be awarded based on the
average number of boats starting for the regatta for each class.
