NOTICE OF RACE
2007 ANNUAL ONE DESIGN REGATTA
THE MILES RIVER YACHT CLUB
AUGUST 4 and 5, 2007
1. RULES: This regatta will be governed by the 'rules' as defined in the Racing Rules Of Sailing 2005-2008 (RRS), except as any of these is altered by this Notice, the Sailing Instructions, or at the Skippers' Meeting.
2. ELIGIBILITY: This regatta is open to the following classes: STAR , LASER, LASER RADIAL, PENGUIN, BYTE, COMET, FLYING DUTCHMAN, FLYING SCOT, INTERNATIONAL 505, SNIPE, 420, HAMPTON, HOBIE 16 and OPTIMIST PRAM (ALL FLEETS). Boats must comply with their class association requirements.
3. ENTRIES: Advance receipt of entries on standard CBYRA entry forms is encouraged and it is recommended that entries be received by COB August 2 at MRYC. Entries may be delivered at MRYC or mailed to MRYC, P.O.BOX 158, St. Michaels, Maryland 21663. Entry fees are as follows:
OPTIMIST PRAMS $10.00
STARS $35.00
ALL OTHER CLASSES $20.00

5. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS: Sailing Instructions will be provided at Registration. They may be posted at www.milesriveryc.org when available.
6. RACING AREA: Specific fleet racing areas within the Miles River will be announced at the Skippers' Meeting.
7. SCORING: The low point scoring system of Appendix A (RRS) will apply. One completed race constitutes a series. Each boat's series score shall be the total of her race scores unless (5) five or more races are completed and then she may exclude her worst score.
8. TROPHIES: Depth of trophies shall be awarded according to attendance; 1st for 3 boats, 2nd for 5 boats, and 3rd for 7 boats. Stars will also be competing for the overall series John Charles Thomas Memorial Trophy. The Awards ceremony will be Sunday following the racing.
9. LAUNCHING AND BERTHING: Beach, ramp, and lift launching are available. After unloading boats, it is preferred that vehicles and trailers be parked in the Club field outside the main gate. Please follow instructions of Launch Coordinator. Washing of boats must only be done in the Club field. Please note that due to Talbot County zoning restrictions, camping is no longer permissible on Club grounds.
10. SOCIAL:
BREAKFAST: A continental breakfast will be served Saturday and Sunday and is included in the registration fee. Regular Club Menu Breakfast service may be purchased on Sunday starting 08:30 hours.
LUNCH: A racer lunch buffet for $ 7.00 for OPTI racers (Children 10 or under $3.00) will be served on Saturday and Sunday. On the water bag lunches may be purchased for $ 7.00, BUT MUST BE ORDERED NO LATER THAN COB AUGUST 2. (410-745-9511).
DINNER: Regular Club Menu Dinner service will be available from 5:30 to 9:00 pm on Saturday night. Competitors are requested to make their own reservations and all are encouraged to attend.
POOL: Pool passes are available for competitors in the Club office. Children 14 years of age and under must be supervised by an adult when in the pool area.
