NOTICE OF RACE
2009 Laser District 11 Championship
West River Sailing Club

1 RULES:
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) rules.

2 RISK
All competitors are ultimately responsible for the inherent risks associated with sailboat racing. It is the competitor's decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race.
Each competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

3 FLEET ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Both full rig Lasers, and radial rig Lasers may race in this event. If three or more radials register, there will be a separate radial start.
3.2 All Competitors must be members of the North American Laser Class Association.

4 FEES
4.1 Required Fees.
The entry fee is $60 USD. (FOR ENTRIES RECEIVED BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2009, THE ENTRY FEE IS REDUCED TO $50 USD) The Entry Fee is payable online by credit card or check.
*Checks should be made payable to "West River Sailing Club".
4.2 Online registration is available at www.regattanetwork.com/clubs/wrsc.php
4.3 All payments must be in US dollars.
4.4 Competitors SHOULD register early by completing the online registration form and either paying by credit card, or printing their entry form and sending it with a check (made out to West River Sailing Club) to:

A regatta souvenir will be given to early registration participants while supplies last.
4.5 All early registration MUST be received by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2009.
5. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

0830-0930 Registration
*Doughnuts, bagels, orange juice and coffee at time of registration (included with entry)
0930 Skippers Meeting
1100 First warning signal, races to follow.
*Dinner at 6:00 pm Saturday evening (included with entry)
Extra dinners available for purchase at time of registration

Sunday, September 13, 2009
0800 Doughnuts, bagels, orange juice and coffee (included with entry)
1100 First warning signal, races to follow
Awards to follow ASAP after last race.

5.2 No warning signal after 1500 on Sunday.

6. SAILING INSTRUCTION
6.1 Sailing instructions will be available during on-site registration.

7 SCORING
7.1 The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A2, shall apply except that a boat's score
shall be the sum of her scores if less than five races are sailed. (One throw out after five
races)
7.2 A minimum of one race must be completed to constitute a regatta.

8 AWARDS
8.1 Prizes will be awarded to:
Laser fleet: First through third place
First junior
First woman
Radial fleet: First through third place.

Camping is not permitted on the grounds of WRSC.
Some limited motel rooms are available at Pirates Cove Inn (across the road from
WRSC)
Other motels are in the area and can be reached via the web
