MERRIMAC MEMORIAL REGATTA
May 29, 2010
Portsmouth Boat Club is proud to sponsor the annual Merrimac Memorial Regatta, a small boat race for sailors of all ages.
Where: Portsmouth City Park, small dinghy boat ramp
When: Saturday May 29 2010, first start 10:00am
Rules: Rules will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012 The Sailing Instructions will be provided on the day of the race.
Registration: On line registration is suggested, www.portsmouthboatclub.org, go to the Racing page. This will expedite the boats rating for classifications and awards. Skippers meeting 9:00am Participants under the age of 18 must have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Entry Fee: $15.00 includes two lunch tickets. Additional lunch tickets $5.00 each
Classes: Open, Laser, Moth, multi-hull, Flying Junior, Sunfish. If 4 or more boats of the same type race, the fleet may be further subdivided.
SAFETY: A Coast Guard-approved PFD must be worn and fully secured at all times while afloat, except for brief periods while adding or removing clothing. Whistles permanently attached to the PFDs are recommended.
Ratings: Per US Sailings Portsmouth Yard Stick 2006
Races: Single Fleet, Race Committee may split into two fleets with separate starts.
Courses: Course to be determined at registration
Skippers Meeting: 0900 at Launch Site
