Crystal Bowl Regatta

In Galesville, MD on Saturday, the West River SC hosted the Crystal Bowl Regatta. The conditions were challenging as dark skies, frequently heavy rain showers, and big breeze characterized the racing. The adverse conditions kept participation low. Two Jet 14 races were held on the "cove" race course. The finishes were 1.Lochner/McKenna 2. Parramore/Kennedy 3. Bruns/Pert 4. MacMurray/Bajowski 5. Elliot/Elliot's Nephew. Jet 14 winner Todd Lochner reports, "Solely based upon the smiles on the competitors' faces, one would not have realized that the Crystal Bowl had been held in dismal precipitation. The weather may have dissuaded all but the hearty souls from venturing out but those who did had a wonderful time." Bill Beaver won the five boat International Canoe class with three bullets. Mike Schmidt won the Laser class with a pair of bullets.
