Disappointing turn out for the Cambridge regatta this past weekend. Five boats showed up, three from Annapolis.
We had good conditons Sat morning, 6-10 kts. After lunch the fleets sailed out to be greeted with 20-30 knots of t-storms and the end of racing for the day. After that, Wilson and Gendell headed back to Nap Town, never to return. Sunday morning was beautiful and the Cambridge YC had changed the start time to 1/2 hour earlier with Ned Jones the only boat to scramble and make it to the start, a twice around stbd triangle in 15 kts by himself. By the second lap Ned had caught and passed several Albacores. The second race saw Jeff Cox make it to the course and Ned and Jeff had a match race that would rival ANY America's Cup action. They finished overlapped with Ned edging Jeff out for the win, and the regatta.
