Hangover Regatta

Potomac River Sailing Association kicked off the 2008 sailing season with the Hangover Regatta New Years Day. With the weather holding off, 22 sailors took to the water under blue skies and with wind blowing about 20mph. The wind got gustier and shiftier as the day went on.
After 3 races James Jacob (FBYC/SSA) finished first overall with two firsts and a third. He was followed by Eric Johnson (SSA/PRSA) and Stephen Yelland (PRSA). First Radial was Jennifer Parrow (PRSA) followed by Danielle Pryor (SYC).
The Race Committee led by Tom Ballantine got in 3 races between the Marina Towers and Naval Observatory. Most of the sailors made it unscathed, but there were some gear failures causing a few sailors to head in early.
