Corsica Annual Regatta

Fourteen Lasers (7 Open, 7 Junior) hit the starting line at Conquest Beach on the Chester River for the CRYC Annual Regatta. Mike Schmidt started off hot, winning the first two races in light to moderate conditions with Rob Aumiller and Tim Cook splitting the 2nd 's. Disaster struck in the final race on Saturday, however, when Mike and Rob were both caught on the outside of a huge right shift in the dying breeze and finished deep. Conditions Sunday were light (< 5kts) and a stiff current. Tim Cook shot off the starting line and slammed right to the shore for current relief, followed by Mike and Rob. Mike was able to pick off Tim on the last weather leg, but Tim made the right side work at the finish to take the win, and the series. - Mike Schmidt
