Summer One Design Regatta

This past weekend Rock Hall Yacht Club held their Annual Summer One Design Regatta. Bob Tan (SSA) ran away with the 13-boat laser fleet winning every race he participated in. In the 4-boat Radial fleet, Danielle Prior and Samuel Dobbs tied for first place with Danielle winning the tiebreaker having won the final race. On Saturday, the first two races were sailed in very light winds, but later built into half-hiking conditions. Sunday the wind was a little more steady in the 8-knot range.
There were quite a few races within the race with no spots going uncontested. Finishing 2-4 Mitch Grieb (RHYC), Jon Deutsch (FBYC) and Brennen Drysdale (MRYC) all finished within 4 points of each other and those places were decided on the final race. Just behind them were Peter Gates (RHYC) and Faye Flam (RHYC) who competed closely for the next couple spots. Behind them was Jere Smith, Chris Myers and Bob Myers - all three were separated by only 2 points following the last race.
