Dave Irey Regatta

All dressed up and nowhere to go was how the laser sailors started both days at West River's Dave Irey Regatta. After an hour postponement each day the wind filled in for racing on what was an incredibly hot weekend.
In the first race on Saturday, Brennan Drysdale (Miles River YC) picked the shifts on the right side of the course and led Roger Link (WRSC) and Jon Deutsch (FBYC) around the 4 leg course. In the second race Roger hit the right corner first and led the way. By the third race of the day the wind was coming back around to the left causing most of the fleet to overstand to the right. Tim Zimmermann correctly picked the layline and led the race.
Sunday the fleet got in one more race in light and shifty winds. Dorian Haldeman (SSA) with her light-air prowess surged to the front in her own wind up the first beat. Brennan and Dorian eventually left the rest of the fleet in the dust and finished 1-2.
