Sunshine Open

• Annapolis, MD

This past weekend 24 Lasers (several were radials...a welcomed addition) converged upon Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis, Maryland for the 29th running of the Laser Sunshine Open. 5 races were held in a variety of conditions ranging from 5-15 knots.

Hampton Yacht Club's George Panayides battled it out with West Coast surfer Ned Jones for top honors; Panayides got the one point victory. Bob Tan came in third. Top female was Karen Long in 5th, and top master was Diane Burton in 6th.

Many thanks to APS for regatta sponsorship, as well as to event coordinator Teri Munz who did a fantastic job of keeping everything straight. Also, a HUGE thanks to John Potter, PRO, for stretching the course out and keeping things square.
