New Class Rules
December 13th, 2006
As of December 1 new class rules are now in place. The rules were vote on by the membership this spring and approved earlier this year. Nothing groundbreaking and there's nothing that's going to make anyone suddenly faster.
Summary of the changes:
1. Rules now allow for a builder-supplied metal boom sleeve/hook/bock. Or the use of clew tie that uses balls or tubes to reduce friction on the boom.
2. The drain plug can be removed from the self-bailer when sailing.
3. The stopper on the daggerboard can be reinforced with bolts to keep it together.
4. The daggerboard shock cord can now be legally wrapped around the bow to keep it clear of the vang.
