Potomac River Sailing Association Frostbite Results
March 16th, 2008

Potomac River Sailing Association completed their 2007-2008 frostbite series last weekend. They scored everyone both as a series and in teams. There were almost 40 people participating this year, with 15 or so people qualifying for the series. Erich Hesse pretty convincingly won the series again this year.

Final Results

For the Team racing there were fifteen people participate split into 3 teams, with 14 days scored there were 6 days where a point or less decided the winner for the day.

The overall winner was not decided until the last day with Flying Fried Chopstix winning the day by a half a point to take the inaugural team scoring title.

The idea behind the team scoring was to promote and encourage people to talk about the day's sailing and to help the lower half of the fleet. I have to admit that I probably could have done better at this. I have talked to few people and they enjoyed the team scoring and said that it worked the way that I said. And some people in the bottom half enjoyed being able to win through the team scoring. As for the possibility of the teams ganging up on each other in a
"fleet race" I never saw this happen during the course of this season.

So that concludes our team scoring for the season. I think the scoring worked out pretty well and the model of this year could be implemented for next season, if people are still interested. So if you have suggestions of improving or comments on the scoring let me know. Find the final standings below. See you on the water. - Scott Snyder/Eric Hesse
