Greater Richmond Sailing Association Laser Fleet Kick-off

The Greater Richmond Sailing Association Laser Fleet is having an organizational kick off meeting on Saturday, March 14th at noon at the GRSA Pavillion.
From Fleet Captain Michael Garman: The GRSA Laser fleet will have a kick-off meeting on Saturday, March 14th at noon at the GRSA pavilion. We have 22 people signed up for the Laser fleet for 2009! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Richmond-VA-Laser-Sailing/ The GRSA Laser fleet is positioned as an alternate fleet in that Laser events are scheduled on days when there are no other races. We will have Thursday night and select weekend races and activities. Races will be short course where tactics win rather than agility. In this our first season, we will use shore starts and rabbit starts to minimize setup. We will also rotate race committee from Laser to Laser throughout a regatta so you miss only a race or two but not the whole event. The goal of the fleet is to be an incubator for sailing talent that participants can carry over to other classes and regional Laser events. Hope to see everyone on the 14th.
